Community Talk : Felicia Meyerowitz Singh

Felicia is a Chartered Accountant (SA), Bcomm InfoSystems with an Executive MBA from London Business School. She is a co-founder of the female community group Hive, and founder of Akoni Hub, a Fintech company. She won the FDM Every women of the Year 2019 Award as Overall Woman of the Year and was a finalist in the Treasury Innovator Award by the Treasury Leader’s Summit. She is on the foundation board of TEDxEuston.

Idea Search Candidate : Lynette Nabbosa

Lynette Nabbosa ACMI is a Senior Lecturer in Business. She has a professional background in financial inclusion, behavioural economics and social innovation and was a winner of the UN PRME Responsible Business and Management Writing Competition 2017. She is a 2019 Lloyds Bank Social Entrepreneur and a Shackleton Young Leader.

Idea Search Candidate : Sarah Chantler

Sarah is a registered dietitian from South Africa. She studied dietetics at the University of Cape Town and has worked in different environments across South Africa. She is currently completing her PhD in Leeds.

Lanre is a Leadership Development coach and poet who is passionate about empowering individuals to fulfill their aspirations and realise their inner ambitions.

Idea Search Candidate : Kirstie Kwarteng

Kirstie Kwarteng is a PhD Candidate at SOAS, in the Department of Development Studies. In 2014, she founded The Nana Project, a digital platform dedicated to preserving Ghana’s history through the voices of Ghanaian elders. She was named as one of Ghana’s Top 30 Under 30 in 2016 by the Future of Ghana.

Community Talk : Femi Sunmonu

Femi is a physician, social entrepreneur and co-founder of PurpleSource healthcare, an impact focused healthcare company providing access to affordable, quality primary healthcare to low-income populations in Nigeria. He has also been involved in the design and implementation of several health initiatives. His work has been supported by the Global social Benefits institute, Innovations in healthcare and the Pfizer Foundation.

Idea Search Candidate : Sylvia Arthur

Sylvia Arthur is a British-Ghanaian narrative nonfiction writer whose work has been published in The Guardian, The British Journalism Review, and on the BBC website. She is the founder of Libreria Ghana, a library and literacy outreach agency based in Accra.

Idea Search Candidate : Patricia Ncube & Yolanda Muzondo

Yolanda and Patricia are the co-founders of Our.Voice.Africa, a digital platform that seeks to empower African youths. Yolanda is a recent Occupational Therapy graduate, and is currently studying her masters in Disaster Management. Patricia is a published writer, and currently an undergraduate student reading Philosophy, Politics and Economics.

Idea Search Candidate : Lola Jemibewon

Lola Jemibewon is a Nigerian-American (or American-Nigerian) who calls the UK home. Trained in international affairs and economics, she works as a trade and export development consultant, helping African firms reach foreign markets. Her goal is to help bridge the knowledge gap between Africa and the global economy.

The program is designed to give communities, organisations and individuals the opportunity to stimulate dialogue through TED-like experiences at a local level.

Our event, TEDxEuston was one of the first TEDx events in 2009, and is the only TEDx outside of Africa that celebrates the diverse nature of the continent and its diaspora. We are committed to “African Ideas Worth Spreading” and connecting our community through our annual event, TEDxEustonSalon and conversations throughout the year.TEDxEuston is organised by a global team of volunteers based in the UK, Nigeria, Ghana, Germany, USA and India. We believe in the power of ideas, the strength of stories and sharing an authentic narrative about Africa.
